Is Social Distancing A Good Thing?

It’s Quarantine Season!

Yes! Social distancing is a great thing. Most people are taking the necessary precautions by STAYING AT HOME. Please be responsible. I’m a homebody anyway so this is everyday life for me (although my job is still open). Make sure you don’t come in contact with the virus and spread it to someone who has no choice but to be out right now. Some people like myself have pre-existing respiratory issues and something like this would make life so much harder. If you can help it make sure you avoid large crowds and don’t throw parties.

Don’t do things that’ll put you or anyone else at a high risk just because you don’t care. Please be careful and try to stop the spread of germs in general.

Take Advantage Of Your New Free Time!

This world is going crazy little by little, but I can’t help but to notice the difference in our family dynamics. Social distancing might bring a welcome change to how we interact with each other and help create more love in the world. Parents have no choice but to participate in home activities with their children with little to no distractions. You would be surprised at the number of families that don’t/can’t have any family time. You may not realize it now, but your children are so happy to have you home. They are out of school and can eat, play, and talk all day. There is nothing more important to them than having you there to reassure them everything will be ok, and to make things as normal for them as possible. We have to remember that these babies haven’t experienced all of the ‘the world is going to end’ phases that we have and they’re exposed to more through the media. They’re following the news just like we are and they might have questions, don’t be afraid to answer them.

You can also take this time to work on something you’ve always to work on. Take on a new project; sewing, writing, singing, dancing, arts & crafts, etc. I know there has to be something you were dying to try, but there was just never enough time in the day. I encourage you to go ahead and start that project you’d be surprised at how it turns out. Even if it doesn’t go as well as you planned, you can at least say you did it.

As you can see my topics are a little different compared to the beginning of March. I’ve always said I don’t have a job in my field but I’ve never talked about what that field would be. I love digital marketing! I love being able to develop and manage a website. The purpose of this was to get some much needed experience and being able to use the technology as well as developing the natural instincts that an experienced digital marketer would have.

Hello I'm Mariah Eskridge and my goal is to encourage those who otherwise wouldn't have the support. I graduated from Illinois State University in May 2019 with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Accounting. I've been faced with plenty of situations that I would've loved having someone that I can relate to.
