Dealing With New Hormonal Changes

Yes I’m really going to talk about hormones and more specifically the menstrual cycle!!!
*Ahhhhhh* It’s not as dirty and gross as everyone tries to make it sound. If you’re a female and you have a period congratulations, because you have a relatively normal reproductive system.

I started my period when I was 9 years old and in the 4th grade. My skin was different and I was going through something that no other girl in my class was going through. Now that I’m 25 my body is still reacting differently as time goes on. I think we can all agree that the period part isn’t the worst part about it, it’s the hormones and the pain. I’ve come to understand my mood swings a little better and I’ve realized that my body is ready for a child (although I am not lol).

At 25 your body is literally preparing for a child. I’ve been experiencing moods and food cravings similar to a pregnant woman and it’s ridiculous. Recently I opted to stop using tampons! I know but hear me out, it’s amazing. I use a menstrual cup, I won’t say the brand name, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. It’s better for your health, cramps, no extra hormones, and it frees up your time. I’m not constantly worrying about leaking or running to a bathroom because it’s been 3-4 hours since I last changed. I literally take it out and clean it twice a day and that’s it. Even if you need to change 3 times a day it’s still better than changing a tampon all the time. It’s also cheaper, I bought the cup and that’s all I pay for, no monthly costs for new tampons. I don’t have to worry about running out, you just boil it for added sanitation between periods but that’s it. I hate to sound like a walking ad but it honestly has changed the way I view my periods.

Hey guys I’ve been rearranging my life in big ways that I’ll talk about later. The timing might be a tad different then normal, but it’ll still be the same days. Thanks for reading!
